I photographed this lovely crane preening in the early morning and had to paint it. The lighting and posture was so perfect with the feathers all fluffed up that I couldn't resist using acrylic paint to paint every feather. The original image is 30" x 15" x 1.5" on canvas.
This painting received a Merit Award at the 2020 Wings Over the Platte juried Exhibition at the Stuhr Museum in Grand Island, NE.
